Keylong

Nestled on the Manali-Leh Highway, Keylong is a little hamlet, in the Lahaul and Spiti district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, which has witnessed a major economic growth since it became an overnight halt point for buses traveling between Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh. Keylong is located close to Kardang monastery, one of the largest and most important monasteries in Lahaul district, belonging to the Drupka sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Other monasteries located in proximity to Keylong include Shasur and Tyaul. The annual Ladakh festival takes place every year in July on a big scale.
