The weeklong ‘Journey to Ladakh’ tour explores two naturally furnished regions of Ladakh- Pangong Lake and Nubra Valley. The Nubra Valley is a cluster of tiny villages with irrigated and fertile land. The presence of Buddhist monasteries can be rightly attributed to its natives, who are followers of Buddhism at large. Next is Pangong Lake, an important breeding ground for migratory birds such as Brahmini Ducks and Bar-headed geese. Itinerary Detail

Day 1  Leh

On your arrival at Leh, our tour representative will meet you and assist you with a smooth transfer to the pre-booked hotel. Complete the check-in formalities at the hotel and spend the rest of the day by taking rest. Taking rest for a day is a necessary thing to do in Ladakh to get familiar with the high altitude place. Also, it is advisable to keep yourself hydrated.

Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2 Leh to Alchi to Leh

Start the day by munching delicious breakfast and then drive towards the west of Leh to visit the Alchi Monastery. En route take a halt near the Magnetic Hill, one of the must-visit places in Ladakh. Located in the Leh-Kargil highway, magnetic Hill is famous for its anti-gravity phenomenon. Also, visit the confluence of Indus and Zanskar River at Nimu which is a popular spot for white water rafting in Ladakh. Then continue to the Alchi Monastery. Return back to Leh. Enroot visit Pather Sahib Gurudwara . In evening visit leh Palace and Shanti Stupa. The beautiful white dome-shaped Buddhist Stupa is a popular tourist attraction in Leh. Built on a hilltop in Chanspa, the Stupa offers a stunning sunset view and Local market.

Day 3  Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardungla

On day 3 morning of the tour, get ready to visit Nubra Valley one of the most popular destinations in Ladakh. Have your breakfast and leave by road for Nubra Valley via Khardongla Pass. This is considered as the highest motorable pass in the world at an altitude of 18360 ft. On arrival at Nubra valley, check-in at the pre-booked hotel or deluxe camp as per your preferred itinerary.

Nubra valley is like a wonderland of sparkling sand dunes overlooked by snow-covered mountains. Its mystic beauty places Nubra valley among the top tourist destinations in Ladakh. In the evening, take a camel safari in Nubra Valley. Explore Hunder, the site of white sand dunes on the back of a double-humped camel found only in Nubra valley. This is among the top tourist activities in Ladakh. After the enjoyment, back to your hotel/camp and have dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel/camp.

Day 4  Turtuk excursion (Former Baltistan)

Wake up to a beautiful day, have a delicious breakfast, and then proceed for the sightseeing tour of Turtuk, which was once a part of the Baltistan region of Pakistan. In 1971, India captured the village during the war with Pakistan. The locals speak the Balti language here as their ethnicity. Situated on the bank of the Shyok River and an oasis of the K2 mountain range, Turtuk is the northernmost village of India. While exploring the village you can interact with locals to listen to some of the interesting stories about the 1971 war and how India captured this strategic village of the Gilgit Baltistan region from Pakistan. You can also learn about the Balti culture and heritage during the village tour. This idyllic village is renowned for its world-class quality of apricots and walnuts. From the village, you can buy the fruits and dry fruits directly from the farms. Spend some time on the bank of the glistening Shyok River and delve into the serene aura of this beautiful place.

After the sightseeing tour of Turtuk, return to Hunder. The rest of the evening is at your leisure and you can spend your time at your own wish. Take a stroll near the hotel and enjoy the enchanting beauty of the region.

Have a lip-smacking dinner at the hotel and enjoy a sound sleep in your cozy bed.

Day 5  Nubra Valley to Pangong via Shyok River

Today after breakfast, check-out from the hotel or camp and start for the Pangong Lake at 14,500 ft., through Shyok River. Before start Pangong journey you will visit on way the Diskit Monastery, one of the most famous and oldest monasteries in Ladakh.

Later drive of the most adventurous journeys that cover a distance of 274 km in about 8 hours. Enjoy the views of towering mountains during the journey from Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake. On arrival at Pangong, check-in at the camp and get delighted in the sheer bliss of nature. Witness the change of color of the Pangong Lake and the unmatched beauty of the sunset over the lake. Enjoy overnight camping at Pangong which is the best camping site in Ladakh. Overnight stay at the camp.

Day 6  Pangong Lake to Leh via Changla pass

Wake up to the heavenly beauty at the chirping of the birds and come out of your camp to enjoy stunning views of the sunrise over the lake. Thereafter, have your breakfast and drive back to Leh via Changala Pass. En route, visit Hemis and Thikshey two of the most famous monasteries in Ladakh.

Thiksey Gompa is one of the most beautiful monasteries in Ladakh. The 12-story monastery located on a hilltop resembles the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. The monastery houses a valuable collection of Buddhist books, scripts, Thangka paintings, stupas, statues, and swords. Then visit the Hemis Monastery, one of the largest monasteries in India where the famous musk festival in Ladakh is celebrated. After exploration, back to Leh and check-in at the hotel followed by dinner.

Day 7  Leh – Delhi (Departure)

Today is the last day of the tour. In the morning, enjoy your breakfast and get escorted to Kushok Bakula airport to catch a flight for your onward journey.
