Itinerary Detail

Day 1 Delhi - Leh

From the Delhi Airport, board the flight to Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport in Leh, which is 3,256 m above sea level. Upon your arrival at the Leh Airport, our representatives will meet you and provide you with a transfer to the pre-decided hotel. Complete the check-in formalities at the hotel and relax. The rest of the day is spent leisurely resting and acclimating to the environment.

Further, at around 4:30 PM, you will visit Shanti Stupa on the hilltop. From the top of the Shanti Stupa complex, you can see the panoramic view of the city. Then, visit Chowkhang Monastery and soak in the spiritual aura of this serene place. Later, head towards the Leh Market, where you can shop. Some of the best buys include Buddhist masks, prayer wheels, Thangka paintings, and woolen items like Pashmina shawls, gloves, sweaters, and more. You can also savor local delicacies.

After the sightseeing tour, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2 Leh – Indus Valley Tour – Leh (90 km approx. round trip)

Wake up to a beautiful day, have a toothsome breakfast, and head towards Indus Valley for a full-day sightseeing tour. You will visit Stok Palace, an erstwhile residence of the royals. This 14th-century palace complex also houses a museum where you can see the artifacts that exhibit the history of the royals. Also, visit the Stok Monastery and interact with the locals here. Then, visit Thiksey Monastery, which is a 12-story structure and is known to be a place with a rich cultural heritage. Stakna Monastery is another popular attraction of the day. It is located on the top of the barren mountain and offers enchanting views of the surroundings.

Then, head towards Changchubling Monastery, better known as Rizong Monastery, erected in 1829. This Gompa is known for its high standards of monastic discipline. Lastly, visit Hemis Monastery, one of the wealthiest monasteries in Ladakh. It houses the golden statue of Sakyamuni and also comprises a museum in which you can see artifacts, thangkas, and murals.

After the exploration tour, return to the hotel in the evening. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 3 Leh - Nubra Valley (Valley of Flowers) (160 km/ 4 hours 40 minutes)

Post breakfast, pack your bags, and complete the check-out formalities at the hotel. Start your early morning drive to Nubra Valley via Khardungla Pass, which is 5,360 m above sea level. It is one of the highest motorable passes in the world. By the afternoon, you will arrive in Nubra Valley. Upon your arrival in Nubra Valley, you will be assisted towards the pre-book camp. Check in at camp and unwind.

Later, set out to visit the white Hunder Sand Dunes to enjoy the camel ride on the Double humped Bactrian camel. From the dunes, you will get a glimpse of the 108-foot-tall Maitreya Buddha statue, which is situated in the Diskit Monastery complex. Lastly, you will visit to explore the Diskit and Hunder villages to get a sneak peek into the lifestyle of the locals.

Return to the hotel after the sightseeing tour and sleep soundly at the cottage.

Day 4 Turtuk excursion

Greet the day with a hearty meal. After breakfast, hit the road to visit Turtuk, which is an interesting place. Before 1971, this place belonged to the Baltistan region of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK). However, in 1971, during the war with Pakistan, India recaptured this place. This is among the northernmost villages in the country. Located on the bank of the Shyok River, Turtuk is a quaint little hamlet, a part of the Silk Route, and among the most beautiful places in Nubra Valley.

Further, Turtuk is famous for its apricots and dry fruits. Explore the breathtaking beauty of this place, have lip-smacking local delicacies in the cafes, and enjoy shopping. You can interact with locals and listen to the interesting stories of 1971 when Turtuk merges with India overnight. After the excursion of the Turtuk, return to the Hunder in the evening. Overnight stay at the camp.

Day 5 Nubra Valley - Pangong via Shyok River (274 km/ 6 hours 41 minutes)

Early in the morning, embark on a drive to Pangong Lake, one of the world's highest saltwater lakes. Before starting the journey, visit the Diskit Monastery, among the most popular and oldest gompas in Nubra Valley. Afterward, proceed towards Pangong Lake. Enjoy the enchanting views of the towering mountains and glistening Shyok River during the journey from Nubra Valley to Pangong Tso. The driving route also encompasses the Durbuk and Tangtse villages. Pangong Lake is one of the most amazing lakes in Asia, where one can witness the interplay of colors.

On arrival, head towards the Campsite, complete the check-in formalities and unwind. Later in the evening, visit the lake and explore by walking alongside it. Witness the change of color of Pangong Lake and the unmatched beauty of the sunset over the lake.

Overnight stay at the camp.

Day 6 Pangong – Tso Moriri Lake (378 km/ 8 hours 28 minutes)

Wake up early in the morning to witness the mesmerizing beauty of Pangong Lake under the fresh morning rays. After breakfast, set off for a drive to Tso Moriri, the largest lake in Ladakh, situated at an altitude of 4,552 m above sea level. En route, you will halt at Chumathang Hot Springs, which is believed to comprise medicinal properties. Drive past Mahe Bridge, and you will spot Himalayan Marmot if you get lucky. You will arrive at the Tso Moriri in the evening and be assisted towards the campsite. Complete the check-in formalities and unwind.

After some time, head towards the lake to spot some of the exotic species of birds. The lake is designated as Ramsar Wetland Sanctuaries. It is a breeding and nesting area for thousands of migratory birds, including Brahminy Duck, Bar-headed Goose, and Black-Naked Cranes.

Stay overnight in the camp.

Day 7 Tso Moriri Lake – Tso Kar Lake - Leh (241 km/ 6 hours 41 minutes)

After refreshing morning breakfast, drive to Leh via the Tso Kar Lake route. On the way, visit the Puga Geothermal Gas Springs and Nomadic Rebo tents at Polo-Kongka Pass. After crossing the pass, stop by Tso Kar Lake for a photo stop. If you wish to, you can also visit the monastery of tiny Thukje village. Upon reaching Manali highway, cross the Tanglang La Pass, located at an altitude of 5,350 m above sea level. By the evening, check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8Leh - Lower Indus Valley – Leh

On the 8th day of the tour, after having breakfast, embark on a sightseeing tour of the Indus Valley. En route, you will visit Magnetic Hill, one of the wonders of the Himalayas, which defies the gravitational law. Just before reaching the Indus Valley, halt at Nimu Valley, popular for its scenic landscape. Sangam is a famous attraction and a confluence point of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers.

Further, on Leh-Nimu Road, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib is the next stop, built to honor Guru Nanak Devi Ji, the founder of the Sikh religion. Seek blessings there and revel in the scenic beauty of the serene environs. If the weather permits, you can indulge in rafting at the Zanskar River. In the evening, return to the Leh.

Savor the scrumptious dinner and retire for the day.

Day 9 Leh - Delhi (Departure)

This is the last day of the nine-day Leh Ladakh itinerary. Wake up early in the morning and have a toothsome breakfast. Pack your bags and complete the checkout formalities. Then, leave for Leh Airport to board the flight back home.
