Majestic Ladakh with Pangong Lake

Arrival Leh in the morning and transfer to the hotel. Take complete rest for the day for acclimatization to the high altitude of Leh (11,500 ft / 3500 mtrs). Overnight in hotel.

The 2nd day of the tour is a free day at Leh for rest. The day is at your leisure. You can go for the city tour and enjoy the time here, In the afternoon you can visit Shanti Stupa, Sankar Gompa, Leh Palace & the markets. You can also pay your respects at the Military Hall of Fame which is being established and maintained by the Indian Army. It is a museum and memorial of the war heroes.

Return to the hotel in the evening and enjoy the dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel in Leh.

After breakfast leave for Nubra Valley, driving across Khardong-la (alt: 18,380 ft). After descending from the pass, drive on for sightseeing of Sumoor area. Later check into a fixed camp in the same area or drive across to Deskit for overnight stay in a camp.

In the morning visit / explore Deskit , Hundar and the Sand Dunes where you can enjoy a short camel safari using the double-humped Bactrian camel found here (optional on direct payment). Later drive back to Leh, reaching in the late afternoon / evening. Overnight at the hotel.

On the 5th day of the tour, you will head towards Alchi after having a delicious breakfast. You will drive to Sham Valley and en-route stop at Likir Monastery. The monastery comprises great statue of Maitreya Buddha which will leave you spellbound. Later, proceed to visit the Alchi Monastery which is famous for its miniature paintings. Enjoy the 1000-year old murals which are also listed among the best Buddhist miniature paintings.

During your visit to Alchi, you will drive past the Magnetic Hill or the gravity hill, which is a natural wonder of the region. You will also get an opportunity to visit the Kali Mata (Temple of Guardians in Spituk monastery) and Gurudwara Pathar Sahib.

After the exciting day, return to Leh. Overnight stay at the hotel in Leh.

Early departure for Pangong Lake (approx. 145 kms, located on the Indo China Border), via Chang-la pass (alt: 17370 ft). After full day of sightseeing around the Lake check-in at fixed tented camp near the lake at Spangmik or drive back for 30 kms to Tangtse and check into Hotel / Guest House for overnight stay.

After breakfast, leave Pangong / Tangtse and retrace the Leh route across Chang-la. Upon reaching Karu, drive across the Indus and visit the famous Hemis Monastery, biggest monastery of Ladakh. Later drive on to Leh, enroute visiting the picturesque Thiksey monastery. Overnight in hotel.

Early morning transfer to the airport for taking the flight back home.-Tour ends.
